Black Myth: Wukong is a role-playing game based on the famous 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West. The gameplay is a journey through a semi-open world, reminiscent of a Metroidvania-style game. The developers cited the Souls series as its main inspiration. The story revolves around a hero named Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King. He travels through fantasy worlds while fighting all kinds of bizarre creatures. Each enemy in the game poses a huge threat. Not only do opponents have unique moves and attacks, they can also transform into bats, insects, giant monsters, and more.
